more pictures

Here are Elizabeth's tiny little feet sticking out from under here blanket right before baptism.

Jonah loves digital camera he likes that he can see the picture of the little screen right after it's taken. My grandma took a picture of him and he was awfully mad that she wouldn't show him the picture, her camera isn't digital so all he could see was the black panel covering the film. He's so cute its hard not to show him the picture when he reaches for it so nicely.

And in my normal fashion I forgot to take a picture of the knitting stuff i got for my birthday - I got folk mittens, the twisted sister sock workbook, and folk knitting in Estonia - I also got a yarn suitcase (well an organizer on wheels) and a yarntainer so I should be well organized and able to keep my yarn clean.

Lots of Pictures

I have been working on the peapod baby set for my niece so I haven't been posting pictures of too much progress so I am posting a few of the along the way shots along with the completed pictures of the sweater and the hat.

I Also have a picture of Elizabeth wearing the baby slippers I made here, she wore them for her baptism.
*I'll try and add tomorrow blogger photo is not working so well today

Tomorrow I"ll have pictures of my knitted related birthday gifts. Unless I forget now that I'm older that will be happening more.

My new camera came

it was on my front step when I got home from work yesterday (which I knew because I was checking the tracking every 30 minutes all day at work) so that was exciting - I plugged it in to charge up the battery and it wasn't done charging by the time I got to knitting so that was sad... It's supposed to charge in 2 hours and it was only 1:30 so I wasn't worried then I got home and it still wasn't charged so I thought maybe the plug couldn't plug in all the way so I moved it and then this morning it still wasn't charged.... so I brought it into work today and looked at the tiny picture to see how it was supposed to be put it so hopefully it's okay now and will be charged by 11 we shall see....
In knitting news I am 99% complete on my little knitting project, I just have to sew on the buttons and hopefully we will have pictures on Monday.
*Edited to add - the camera is now fully charged (apparently if you put the battery in correctly it will charge) and ready to use.

A flurry of inactivity

So during the work week last week I didn't knit a single stitch I can't explain why I just didn't which shortened my working deadline considerably so I had to knit for 3 hours last night and will do that same tonight (and then should be done)
I ordered a new camera yesterday so hopefully that will be arriving soon and ready for taking lots of pictures with a battery that is fully charged at all times (a girl can dream)
I haven't done too much research on my trip yet either and I have 3 days in germany by myself to explore so I should be looking things up and finding great places to go and learning more german
This weekend I'm going to my parents to celebrate my birthday/Elizabeth's baptism so that should be fun...
back to getting nothing accomplished..
is anyone has suggestions of things to do around Heidelberg Germany (besides visiting the yarn shop) leave a comment.

A big weekend

this weekend I went to the WI sheep and wool festival and go to see these lovely sheep it's amazing how big they are - the one on the right was listed at around 180 lbs.
They also had some Old English Baby Dolls but unfortunately the camera batteries weren't up for pictures of that.
I also got to go and see my new niece for the first time. She's so sweet - here's a picture of the slippers I made for her with their trimming unfortunately it's a picture of a picture so hopefully I can update things soon with a picture of her wearing the slippers : )

Rescheduled

I really think it's inconvenient to schedule the US Open when I had a new niece coming - I mean the baby came on Wednesday (hopefully I'll have pictures of her and her slippers with their girly trimmings for Monday) so I decided to start the gift then but when I am distracted by Andy Roddick and James Blake (I do watch women's tennis but all the people I like are out already) it's hard to get knitting done - or you are reading your lace chart and do the same row twice because you really want James Blake to beat Federer...
I'm up to row 28 so maybe 15% done I'm sure I can finish it by Saturday...

Panic Knitting

My SIL got checked into the hospital last night at which point I thought maybe I should start that baby gift at which point I decided it was probably time for all out panic! I'm sure I can get it done by the weekend right?
it's small at least that's one thing in my favor!

I started when I got home last night and worked 6 rows before going to meetup at which point I realized I had done 5 of the 6 rows wrong oops... So I got home after 2 hours of meetup and have 1 less row done then when I got there : ) Oh well.

Also I booked my ticket to Germany so I will be heading out on September 29th do visit Sarah in Germany! I'm very excited to go and have been listening to learn German CDs in the car and uploaded them to my IPod so I can knit and learn German all at once.

Baby Slippers

After reading Rhoda's Blog and seeing her baby slippers I sent her an email and asked her where the pattern was from went and picked up the book from the library and made these while watching 6,439 hours of tennis over the Labor Day weekend. I made the 0-3 month size and hope when my new niece of nephew comes they have 0-3 month feet : )
I think I am going to work on making my own pattern for similar slippers that don't have so much seaming. I don't know if the seaming was hard or I was just distracting by the "Hey, Hey, Hey it's Andy Roddick" song that kept playing.
