Friday

So I spun my own yarn last night and made 2 tiny skeins. It's natural corriedale (sp?) that Erica brought for me to play with. There is a little yellow and rust mixed in on the first on that we had been using on the drop spindle. I keep showing people at work. "Here's the yarn I made isn't it cool" then they stare at me blankly. So we also were the personal freak show for lots of people at starbucks last night. People just stared blatantly without even trying to hide it. Some crazy man said I don't know what dis is but it iz beautiful. Apparently the knitting in public is a lot more common than the spinning wheel. I need to work more with the drop spindle so I have more than a half a yard of yarn before I take that off to take a picture!
Thanks Erica!
Donations are now being accepted to buy me a spinning wheel!

Wet Dog

So I frogged the entire sweater, rinsed the skeins and they are drying. They smell like a wet dog.
Ick!
I saved the sleeves so I don't have to reknit those and made the sweater smaller we'll see how it turns out : )
I have yarn drying in my car right now so that hopefully I can get some knitting done this weekend! We'll see how it goes.
Also - The Knitters Review Member webring is now active.

Flinging Flanging Hourglass Sweater

This sweater has definitely turned against me. Just because I made another sweater with this yarn and the same size needles doesn't mean you would be the same guage now does it? Just because I did another guage swatch to check things out doesn't mean it would turn out now does it? So I added some extra stitches to make sure it wasn't too tight to be safe what does this mean yes yes the sweater is too big. And the neckline is especially beautiful hanging down and sagging and showing off my bra straps lovely I tell you lovely. Just because I did the decreases every row because I had heard rumors about the neckling being too close to flashdance doesn't mean my trying to prevent this would actually work so now I get to frog. But how far? Any opinions are appreciated!

TGIF

I think I have the headache that never ends. I've had a horrible headache since Tuesday and it just won't go away! So thankfully it's Friday and I can go home and go to bed. The new Harry Potter comes out this weekend but I am not getting it as I am broke....... oh well. I should put my name on the list at the library to reserve it. I have 11 repeats done on the hourglass sweater 12 more to go - I think I imay have to do less as it may be too long from yoke to neckline if I do all that I am supposed to... we'll see. Hopefully I'll have that done by Monday and will pictures!

Webrings

So thanks to the folks on Knitters Review I know have links to two webrings on my sidebar so I am going to try to post more frequently and say interesting things : )
I just attached sleeve number 1 last night to the hourglass sweater and have about 20-25 rows left to do to finish sleeve 2. I keep reading about people who run out of yarn and I am in a panic I have I partial skein still attached for the yoke portion about 1/2 gone and another that will be about 1/3 used for the sleeve and another whole one so I have at least the yardage for 2 full skeins (i'm using Cascade 220 superwash) so that's over 440 yards I'm thinking I should be fine... but keep wondering since everyone else seems to be running out of yarn!
Pictures hopefully tomorrow!
*edit - apparently I haven't been accepted in the rings yet so they don't work quite yet
